The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to achieve the future vision (2030), especially the 
sustainable urban development in Mecca, which contributes significantly to the 
achievement of sustainable urban design based on scientific principles and standards, as a 
result of a set of factors and variables, to express the urban and architectural thought of the 
most important Islamic landmarks, The Holy Mosque in Mecca, from the perspective of 
current and future changes to the surrounding of urbanization in light of the factors of 
change (environment - society, culture, urban, economy, politics), and their relationship to 
the current visions of urbanization and architecture of the urban environment of The Holy 
Mosque in Mecca, which requires an analytical study of urban development projects, 
which achieve linking The central region in Mecca with the road network and the local and 
regional movement paths leading to the urban surrounding of The Holy Mosque in Mecca, 
where the research problem appears in the failure to develop a scientific methodology 
according to functional principles and criteria to evaluate the design of urban projects
