Abstract

Cities are affected by many problems and risks that result in many unexpected changes in the city and its urban elements that may threaten the stability of the growth of these cities, and most cities lack the flexibility and resilience mechanisms necessary to face the challenges and pressures facing the urban system and affecting it, whether these pressures exist or not. Potential, which leads to impeding the system's ability to adapt to those severe shocks and the great pressures it faces.
With the world's trend towards urbanization, the importance of designing, planning and managing cities has increased in a way that helps to face those risks and challenges and increases the city's resilience so that the city is able to adapt, mitigate and prepare for the various shocks and pressures it faces, and therefore urban ecology, urban environmental sustainability and resilience are essential elements in this transformation.
In order to achieve this, it is necessary to reach indicators that integrate both urban ecology and resilience within cities. This study proposes a concept for resilient ecological cities and shows how cities face risks and challenges and recover from disasters through models of various experiences and analysis of indicators of resilient ecological cities in them
