Amidst the global shift toward sustainability and recycling, the utilization of shipping containers in construction emerges as an innovative solution that integrates economic efficiency with environmental conservation. This approach reduces the demand for new construction materials, thereby minimizing the consumption of natural resources, energy, and carbon emissions. Repurposing Shipping containers facilitates the development of various building typologies, including commercial. However, the widespread adoption of container-based architecture as an alternative to traditional buildings has led to challenges, particularly due to the neglect of functional, technical, and operational aspects, especially during post-occupancy phases. Findings demonstrate that container architecture provides fast and cost-effective spatial solutions with functional adequacy, making it suitable for temporary or mobile projects. Statistical analysis revealed significant gender-based differences in perceived performance, while evaluations from visitors and employees were relatively consistent. Performance gaps were identified in thermal insulation, spatial flexibility, and natural ventilation. The study recommends the development of more adaptable design models, the application of external cladding to strengthen visual identity, and the adoption of integrated construction solutions by specialized firms. It further advocates for the establishment of post-occupancy evaluation frameworks specific to container buildings and the integration of smart technologies to enhance operational efficiency—contributing to a more sustainable and adaptable built environment.
